I am looking for photography that is not deafening, has a pleasing composition, and makes one think without bothering the eye.

Alida Vanni was born in Cagliari but lives in Milan. For 20 years, he worked for the most influential fashion magazines. Then the love of reportage broke out. Her experience in fashion has given her a lot, but after years of shots designed to convey artificial emotions, her eye needed other realities.

She looks for a not-at-all-deafening photograph, a lyrical composition that makes you think without annoying the eye. She wants her images to be enjoyable for all, not exclusive. She likes the elegance hidden in the world: at that moment, in that fraction of a second, that is no longer there but was there because, for a moment, she saw it.

She says, «Finding one’s dimension in photography means offering one’s photographic gaze to a reality that the eye sees with a thousand different facets. The marks that man leaves, the history, the beauty inherent in daily expression, all amalgamated by the power of light… the other half of the work!»
