The beauty of our world

If the beauty of our world seems to have vanished, let us try to change our point of view. And there she immediately reappears, more beautiful than ever.

This is a somewhat disjointed reflection on the beauty of the world we live in. It is born this way and this way maybe it will leave. But I would like to share it with you.

M9 – il Museo del ‘900

The other day we went to M9 – il museo del ‘900, an unexpected place for me. A spectacular architectural box encloses three unique exhibition floors. Especially the first two: black backgrounds in which to get lost in interactive exhibits. Everything there is interactive and hands-on-as the jargon goes: VR viewers, touchscreens, motion sensors, and immersive reproductions of situations that have shaped Italy’s history over the past century. A place to learn and get to know each other better, to touch on the fact that some of the things that happen today and are often a source of alarmism (induced, more often than not) also happened years ago. And the main characters were really our grandparents and great-grandparents.

Big Rock – Institute of Magic Technologies

Yesterday we went to another place, far from muggy: Big Rock – Institute of Magic Technologies. A school for dreamers and visionaries. A place where state-of-the-art technology meets beauty, where technicians and artists work together to make the product functional and beautiful to see, to enjoy. Immersive. A place to dare, to experience how far visions can go.
We came out with a thousand ideas (and will share them with you soon).

Entering these places took the weight of age off my shoulders for a while. I found myself walking around the room with a VR visor to observe in every detail that I could not touch with my hands. I became a dreamer again. I took back the beauty of the world. Because yes, despite what we feel and the cloak of disappointment hovering over our heads, the world is a place where beauty thrives. And not only in technology. Think of a book, and its ability to make us take a breather when we want to take a break from our daily routine. But above all, think about people, and the ability of human beings to create beauty or to preserve it. Of course, as human beings, we also do many other things that are less praiseworthy – to put it mildly. Perhaps it is time to focus on beauty, though. Because there is so much of it and we have a duty to enjoy it!
