Daniele Stefanizzi was born in Bologna, into a family with roots in Salento, and grew up in the province of Lecce. From an early age he developed a natural curiosity for photography \u2014 one that quietly sat in the background for a while, until a life shaped by travels and encounters brought it back to the heart of how he sees the world.<\/p>\n\n
During his university years in Bologna, he begins travelling with a backpack, driven by a desire to discover distant cultures and tell stories from the inside. It’s through travel that he rediscovers photography as a means of expression and testimony. <\/p>\n\n
In 2013 he trained in photojournalism at the Shoot Institute in Bologna, and went on to deepen his craft through a number of masterclasses with leading photographers from both the Italian and international scene.<\/p>\n\n
His work focuses primarily on social reportage, taking him across the globe \u2014 from the sapphire mines of Madagascar to the prisons of Mexico, through to Roma camps in Serbia. His photographs have been published in national and international magazines, giving a voice to realities that often go unseen. <\/p>\n\n
Over the years he has received numerous accolades, making his mark in some of the most respected arenas of reportage and photojournalism \u2014 among them the Festival della Fotografia Etica in Lodi, the Annual Photo Awards, the Moscow International Photo Awards, and the Urban Photo Awards in Trieste, alongside other notable competitions on the contemporary photography scene.<\/p>\n\n
In his work, Daniele brings together an intimate and respectful eye with a deep ethical and social commitment.
